Analysis of past students work

This thriller has a most of the key conventions of a thriller and has a lot of shot types. I like this thriller opening because it makes me want to know what and why the antagonist is killing people. It covers a wide range of shot types, for the antagonist but i think a point of view from the victim would have been a good idea. The point of view from the antagonist extends the suspension of belief and makes the audience feel like they are involved in the chase. The music works well with the on screen action and the way the titles were used to show a passing of time was a cleaver idea. An improvement i could make is to film somewhere more menacing rather than just inside a park next to a busy road.

Continuity of editing - enigmas

Continuity of editing

Continuity of editing is what keeps the film making sense as it goes along for example if a character is wearing a red shirt in one scene and then suddenly is wearing a green one the continuity of editing is broken and the scene wouldn't make sense to watch.

Enigmas

Enigmas are what in a thriller the protagonist must solve or figure out before the narrative is resolved and the film finished. For example in the manchurian candidate Major Marco has to figure out the enigma.
