Evaluation question 2 'How does your media product represent particular social groups?'

Our media project represents particular social groups of theses there is the typical teenage boy, who is seen to be being chased, you could assume, as the stereotype of teenagers is that they are criminals, that he has stolen from or done something illegal which is why he is running. Also the fact he is wearing a hoodie is white and working class supports this statement. the antagonist is also white and working class but wears a leather jacket which could symbolize a gang or a thug. in the climatic chase scene we see the protagonists use what speed and agility he has in a desperate attempt to get away, but the way the antagonist is reluctant to jump the fence shows he may not be personally involved but hired to do the dirty work, which supports the gang hypotheses.
I feel I have portrayed them in a positive way which makes the audience care about the protagonist and portrayed the antagonist in a negative way which makes the audience encourage them to fail and to celebrate when he does. This is stereotypical of a thriller.

I feel this shot portrays working class as the block of flats is what is usually represents suburbs and working class. This has been used before in films like "Adulthood" and "Attack the Block".

What the characters are wearing shows they are working class. They are wearing jeans which are linked to manual labour and working class this along with the setting they are in clearly shows the characters background. The protagonist hoodie shows the typical teenager stereotype of a criminal and the antagonists leather jacket suggests a thug like character.
